Argonne field trip permission slips will be sent home on Monday. They will be due back by Friday. The field trip for our class will be 2/15.
Information about chess club will also be sent home on Monday.

Reading:This week we will begin to focus on the skill of cause and effect. The students will be reading Katie's Trunk which is another story that will tie in with what we are learning in social studies. We will go over the new vocabulary on Tuesday and a vocabulary quiz will be given on Friday.
English: In English we will work on writing. The students will continue to revise their newspaper articles. We will also be writing some Winter Haiku later in the week.
Spelling: Unit 19- Homework is due on Thursday. Test is Friday.
Science: This week we will continue chapter 15, Energy. An open book/note quiz will be given on Monday. Later in the week we will read and learn about solar, chemical, and mechanical energy.
Social Studies: In social studies we will continue chapter eight, The Road to War. The students have been working on their Patriot/Loyalist project. This week we will learn how the British punished Boston severely for the Tea Party with what the colonists called The Intolerable Acts. On Wednesday we will have a classroom tea party as we work on our Patriot/Loyalist books.
Mrs. Bucklin's Math Class: We will begin chapter four, Algebra. This week we will focus on writing and evaluating algebraic expressions and also the math properties. A quiz covering lessons 1-4 is tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 6th.
