Reading:This week we will continue to focus on "Author's Viewpoint" as we read the story, And Then What Happened, Paul Revere? This story ties nicely in with what we are learning in social studies. We will also write an extended response and review the skill of prediction.
English: In English we will complete our unit "Pronouns. " We will learn how to use we and us correctly. The chapter test has been changed to Thursday. A review will be sent home on Wednesday.
Spelling: Unit 18- Homework is due on Thursday. Test is Friday.
Science: This week we will begin chapter 15, Energy. We will learn that energy is the ability to cause changes in matter. We will specifically focus on kinetic and potential energy.
Social Studies: In social studies we will continue chapter eight, The Road to War. The students have been working on their Patriot/Loyalist project. Some of this will be assigned as homework. This week we will read how the events in Boston brought Britain and the colonies closer to war. The Boston Massacre, Boston Tea party, and Intolerable Acts are a few of the topic we will be covering.
Mrs. Bucklin's Math Class: We will complete chapter 18, Geometry. A quiz on lessons 1-3 has been changed to Monday. We will also learn how to identify the parts of a circle and use a compass to draw circles. We will review similar and congruent figures along with symmetry. The chapter test is tentatively scheduled for Friday. A practice test will be sent home on Wednesday.
