Congratulations to Kate and Jake in winning our classroom spelling bee. They will move on to the fifth grade spelling bee which will be held on Wednesday. We wish them luck!
Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home on Tuesday. Orders are due by Friday.

Reading:This week we will focus on "Author's Viewpoint" as we read the story, And Then What Happened, Paul Revere? We will also review how to write an extended response, which will go along with our story.
English: In English we will continue our unit "Pronouns. " We will learn how to use possessive pronouns, contractions with pronouns, and avoid using double subjects. The chapter 6 test is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 25th. We will continue with the six traits of writing focusing on organization this week.
Spelling: Unit 17- Homework is due on Thursday. Test is Friday.
Science: We will continue our physical science unit. In lesson three we will learn what a chemical change is and how matter is conserved when it changes chemically. A test will be given on Thursday, January 19th.
Social Studies: In social studies we will continue chapter eight, The Road to War. The students will be assigned a special project for this chapter. As we read the students will be writing journal entries from the point of view of a Patriot and a Loyalist. This week we will write how the colonists opposed the Stamp Act and the Townshend Act.
Mrs. Bucklin's Math Class: We will begin chapter 18, Geometry. We will be studying points, lines, and angles. A quiz over lessons 1-3 will be given on Friday.
