Week of May 30th

Parents,
The raffle for Japan has just begun. A letter was sent home on Wednesday, with the list of raffle items and raffle tickets. If you wish to participate, just fill in the tickets, put them in an envelope with the money, and return it to your classroom teacher. All tickets must be turned in by June 3rd. We will have the raffle at the all school assembly on June 6th. Thank you so much for your support.

June 7th--Last day

English:
We will continue Adverbs and Prepositions. This week we will learn how to identify prepositions in sentences and identify prepositional phrases.

Science
:
We will complete chapter 12, Oceans. An open book quiz on lesson 3 will be given on Tuesday. A chapter test will not be given. We will play Ocean Bingo to review what we have learned throughout the chapter.

Social Studies: Chapter 11 tests were sent home on Friday. This week we will learn how in the 1820's and1830's the United States expanded its territory in North America and its power in the Western Hemisphere.

Mrs. Bucklin's Reading Class: We will complete the novel, The Wish Giver. We will read how the children in the story solved their wish problems. Did every thing go back to normal? What lessons were learned with their experiences. We will review character traits and complete a story map.

Spelling: No Spelling this week!

Mrs. Bucklin's Math Class: Math class will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Chapter 17 tests will be handed back on Tuesday. We will end the year with a textbook scavenger hunt. The students will be taking a look back at what they have learned this year.
