May 23rd-- Robert Crown parent informational meeting 6:30 PM
May 25th-- Last day for Life-Saving grams to be turned in.
June 1st-- Fifth grade bowling
June 3rd-- Robert Crown field trip
English: We will continue to work on persuasive writing. The students have been working on their school uniform essay. The next topic "Should the School Day be Longer?" We will also begin Adverbs and Prepositions. We will learn how adverbs describe verbs and how to compare with adverbs.
Science: We will continue chapter 12, Oceans. An open book quiz on lesson 2 will be given on Tuesday. Later we will read and learn about the different features of a shoreline and how they can change.
Social Studies: In social studies we will complete chapter 11, The Young United States. We will learn why the United States went to war a second time with Britain. We will also read about the main battles and the outcome of the War of 1812. The chapter 11 test has been changed to Thursday, May 26th. We will review for the test on Wednesday.

Mrs. Bucklin's Reading Class: We will continue the novel, The Wish Giver. This week we learn of Adam Fiske's wish and the trouble it caused him. We will be completing a story map of each characters story.
Spelling: Unit 30. The test will be on Friday.
Mrs. Bucklin's Math Class: We will continue Chapter 17, Probability. We will predict outcomes of probability experiments. We will also solve problems by using the strategy of make an organized list and tree diagrams. There will be a test on Friday. It will cover lessons 1,2, 4, and 5 in chapter 17. The students will have a practice test for homework on Wednesday.
